unfortunately it is not working and i guess something is wrong… i have a doubt regarding the two pins 9 and 4… i think it has been interchanged in the circuit… because the datasheet of L298 says that pin 4 is for supply and pin 9 for logic. Also the Vc +5V is being connected to the ground in this link… I guess this is the mistake why the circuit is not working. Could anyone please tell me whether I am correct or wrong…?? thank you
Hi, I purchased the L298 Dual H-bridge Product Code : RB-Ite-141 and I do not see anywhere on the board or in the documentation where are the inputs…???..
I assume they may be the headers next to the jumpers, but no indications.
What is the blue switch for? Not mentionned anywhere either.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Alex
RobotShop offers a few breakout boards for the L298N, but we don’t offer the chip on its own. You might look at the datasheets / schematics for these boards to see some alternative designs.
The manufacturer has provided this image showing the connections. I1 and I2 correspond to motor one while I3 and I4 correspond with motor two. They also suggest looking at the schematic to get a better understanding of the setup and chip. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reply here.
I too am having a problem with this driver module.
I have followed numerous L298n tutorials and pin placements but this driver just will not send power to the motors.
There are two jumpers on the 8 pin connector for GPIO signals. According to all information the 5V center pins need to be bridged and power applied to VIN port.
I have connected the i1 to a GPIO and i2 to a GPIO but no matter what combination of HIGH, LOW the motor just will not start.
Do I need to connect the ENA to send a signal to initialize the motor? There are no tutorials or working samples of this motor controller.
Has anyone successfully gotten this controller to actually drive motors?
