KK21 EVO settings for V-Tail 500

My Quadrino is on order…but until it arrives, perhaps someone out there can advise me about initial settings for a KK21 EVO on my V-Tail 500. Configuration:

]Scorpion 960KV motors (GUEC GM412S, OEM for Gaui 500X)/:m]
]Velotech Magic 20A ESC (with BEC)/:m]
]Spektrum DSM-X satellite receiver/:m]
]KK21 EVO 2.1.5 FC/:m]
]Glacier 3S 2200kVa LiPo/:m]
]10x4.5 carbon fiber props/:m]
]Transmitter: Spektrum DX8/:m]

The KK21 appealed because of the ability to use a Spekltrum satellite, which I already have. I do have a couple of Naze32s but don’t think I can use a satellite with them. Also have two CC3D controllers. Obviously I can’t wait to try the Quadrino.

I don’t think there’s anything weird here, but suggested changes will be considered…maybe (there’s not much to play with here except props, I guess)!!

If anyone has some starting settings for the KK21 I would appreciate getting a glimpse. My experience with the KK controllers is the default settings are not a good place to start. I’d hate to crash this bird too early in the game, you know?

The 500 is really cool, incredibly light but stiff. Mounting for flight controller is awesome. I don’t have a small scale but will eventually find one and post results.

Great design and beautiful milling, guys.

Thank you in advance for your help, folks.

Hi Loftonharris,

Welcome to the RobotShop / Lynxmotion forum.

First, the Naze32 should support Spektrum Satellite. Take a look at this “HowTo” we found online.

You might want to start with settings from another user for the KK board. Here is one that has been proven to work but might need some tuning for your particular hardware.
It has been took from the RCGroups forum post HERE.

Eric-
Thanks for the quick response!. If the weather ever behaves I’ll try things out and will submit my results. Will probably start with the kk21 board since changing settings is relatively easy.

At least until the Quadrino arrives!
