Keep getting errors while trying to program

Hi All

I keep getting this error while trying program my track bot.

Please see attach file.

Thanks for your help

your computer cannot find any connection to the board.

First attach the botboard to your pc using a serial connection. or try changing your comport.

Are you using any type of USB-serial adapter?

What Atom are you using. it stated in your ide that you are trying to find AtomPro28… is that what you are using?

Have you applied power to the board? again obvious here… check battery + wire connection.

you have not really explained anything you have tried so im just stating the obvious.

Other things to check are the orientation of the Atom Pro Chip. Are you sure it’s not in backwards? The notch should be facing towards the boards edge (Outwards). If it’s oriented correctly, check that all the pins are seated. Other issues have to do with usb to serial adaptors. If instead you are using a straight through serial cable, you might want to make sure the right comport is selected.

Yes I’m using the AtomPro 28

Yes I have power to the board. The green light is on

Yes I’m using a Parallax usb to serial adapter and the green light is on.

My computer system is Windows Vitsa

When I go to Tools/Preferences and hit the find the processor when it hits com8 I can here 4 or 5 beeps the error pops up.

I went to the BASIC Micro Studio Programming Tutorial for BASIC Atom Pro and told me to Adjust the “Reset Hold Time” a little at a time, until the IDE is able to connect. I went down to 0 and still help.

HI All

I finally got things working now. I had uninstall everything and reinstall. Now its working.

Thanks for your help.

Glad you got it working! I had to do a full uninstall and reinstall when I had an issue where my AD pins stop working. I thought I fried something but it turned out it was software related. One day it was working fine, and when I made some changes to my program and recompiled, the AD pins stopped responding to any input. A full uninstall and reinstall solved the problem.

I’m using Widows XP and for some strange reason, something went bad with the install. I don’t know if it had something to do with another program that was installed after the IDE that might of changed a critical file or what. Sometimes a reinstall can do wonders.

We see this every now and then with other customers. I can’t figure out why it happens though because we don’t install anything wierd. Everything gets installed to the Basic Micro folder and no other software by any other company should ever be installing or changing files in that directory. :frowning:
