I recently completed assembly of Robotis Mini. Everything is fully functional except for servos 4 and 6. When Robotis Mini is first powered up, all the servo red LEDs light momentarily except for servos 4 and 6. Servo 4 passes the Actuator Test, servo 6 does not. However, for example, when executing a left hand wave, servo 4 responds, but servo 6 does nothing. I have spent hours emailing back and forth with Robotis support. One of the things they had me do is a firmware recovery and ID re-assignment for servo 6. There is not much I could do wrong with the assembly because the wiring to servos 4 and 6 is so simple. Robotis technical support has given up because I bought the robot at the robotshop. I am severely frustrated as I have been at this for weeks. I am close to giving up, but I don’t want to. Any ideas out there as to what is wrong?
I realized something very stupid on my part. I have been reporting my observations completely wrong. When doing a left hand wave, I was seeing the movement of servo 2 and incorrectly reporting it as servo 4. So here is reality, and I think this should make it much easier to diagnose.
The Actuator Test fails on servo 4
The Actuator Test fails on servo 6
When Robotis Mini is first powered on, all of the red LEDs light momentarily except for servos 4 and 6
Neither servos 4 or 6 respond during any commands
BTW, I have successfully done a Firmware Recovery and ID re-assignment to servos 4 and 6.
So, it is the 2 servos past the cable coming from servo 2 that do not work. The daisy chain appears to be broken coming from servo 2.
There has to be a simple reason why the daisy chain coming from servo 2 and going to servos 4 and 6 is broken. Help!!!
