i am new, and have been looking for a humaniod for under $1000, and was looking at the j5, does any one know a total price and if this bot is ready for purchase?

also what can be added to this bot over time?

is the khr better?

well, the johnny 5 is still in production at jim’s house, im sure he has it mostly designed and planned out, its just he has 700 million things to do (too much stress cause he gets too much buisness :open_mouth:)

im going to say the johnny 5 will be around 400-600 max cause i bought a 4WD rover and it cause me $300 something dollars, and plus the hlaf a humanoid

id let him reply to this thread, we already ask him enough about when a project will be coming out :laughing:

I am waiting for the new base rotate parts. When they are in stock we are ready to go. No one is as frustrated at how long this is taking as me. :imp: but I’m going to release this kit come hell or high water! :smiley: I am done with the prototyping of the chassis and motor control aspects. Next is the assembly guides, and finally the kitting of the parts. It will definetely be this year…

What’s you current level of knowledge of programming and interfacing with the microcontroller? This will help with the decission process.

well i am new and have some understanding of this stuff, i am very good at using electrical devises and have programed some some things

what do u think the level on how hard the johnny 5 will be to build?

how fast does anyone think the j5 will go over carpet and what this bot will be able to do programing wise?

is this bot going to me remote controlled over free moving

1= It will be pretty easy to build, it will take only a couple hours.
2= no one knows how fast it will be until it comes out
3= It can be both, maybe Jim will make a kit for remote controle, but at the base its controlled by what you program in the Basic Atom
