Johnny 5 is a little closer to being available!

It’s not going to be too much longer. This is a new assembly guide. Don’t be too critical of mistakes. :stuck_out_tongue:

AWSOME!

As italian guy said! Awesome!!

I soooo wish i could afford one :frowning: Anyone want to donate me one?

If I could afford to build an LM kit, this would be one of them and the CHR-3 Hexapod would be the other one. Actually, I am thinking about using the CHR-3 legs on an Octapod one of these days (no, not Walk 'N Roll as they would not work for that robot).

8-Dale

I totaly agree!!!

one thing :

ohh, and an other : I guess now you know the price, or the aproximative range?

The tracked vehicle part is going to be around $220.00. So it’s really close to the price of the 4WD rovers.

Jim…

The photos arn’t sharp enough, can you re-take all the photos again?

Just Kidding! :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks good Jim

Will this price include motors and the motor controller?

It’s the price for a rolling chassis. Everything included in the image, but no electronics, motor controllers, etc.

wow! that’s cool! not to expensive

Yes, that is quite reasonable. I predict those kits are going to be very popular.

Thanks guys, I had to make some design tradeoffs to keep costs down. But I think it’s a good stable platform. Here is a little more info.

My goal is to make a complete Johnny 5 kit. Many companies have talked a good story, but it’s never been done.

Very well done 8)

Nice!

mmm, this is just a little problem I have : it doesn’t show up in : what’s new, and usaly that’s were I go each couple of weeks to see whats new, and its still at the updates of the SEQ…

oh, and wheres the rotation base?

I only add things to the “What’s New” page when they’re ready to be sold. Otherwise, I get flooded with “Is it ready yet?!” emails.

The base isn’t quite ready yet; we’re working on it!

ok, thanks for the quick response, I understand why you do that

can only two 7.2vdc 50:1 175rpm motors make the bot roll well? the other 4 by 4 rovers all had 4 motors, and I thought that tracks had more friction so it was harder for the motors…

well, they said they tested right? and if they did that i assume that the robot can move fine
