Jittering on a SSC-32 & HSR-5980SG

Hi,

I’m working with a SSC-32 to manage the control of 2 servos. (to move a tube)
Both servos are the HSR-5980SG from Hitec.

When we move the horizontal servo there is no jittering (almost visible). but when we move the vertical one, servo starts to jitter, making the tube trembling up&down

what can I do to avoid this jittering?
is there any command or alternative on the ssc-32 to reduce this effect?

thanks a lot!

What is the operating voltage? Would help to see mechanical assembly and servo wiring. A video may be helpful as well.

Hi,
The operating voltage is 6v 1,5A.
you can see the conection diagram attached.

Thanks a lot!

The drawing is nice, but it doesn’t really provide the real world picture of what is going on. How long is the arm and how much does it weigh? You are powering everything from the wall pack. The SSC-32 could be browning out. You really need to use a 9vdc for the logic supply to eliminate this as a potential cause of the problems. Some images and a video is the only way to convey what is truly happening.

What is your application?

The long horizontal arm has considerable leverage on the servo, and is prone to vibrations or oscillations. The movement (actually a rotation about a horizontal axis) is also magnified by the leverage of the arm.

Viscus dampening might be helpful.

How much rotation do you need? an externally geared servo (like in a camera tilt/pan) could help in this application.
