I have assembled a jhonny5 kit and i have a problem; The servo n° 2 and 3 are very difficult to setting the neutral position;
The other servo are all ok. But these servo, produced a scratch ( amplified by the plastic rotation chassis ) because not support the weight of the torso, An other terms:
I suppouse that two servos are not specified for this work ( in the case to add other servo in future for example to turn vertically
the ’ eyes ’ ) I could to setting without a scratch whith only two position ( but not are 0 or neutral ) but the scratch retourn in any successive
moviment of torso. I have controlled all steps to assemble , but any mistake. I think that is only my problem, because in the forum I don’t see
other same topics; Could give me a support?

Sorry but the servos whit produced a scratched are n° 1 and n° 2 and not 2 and 3;
An other therms are servos with positioned the torso vertically;

“Scratched”? I’m with you, I don’t know exactly what he means, either.
OK, let us assume he means they skip or are erratic. This could be caused by a poor connection to the servos, or the servos may be bad. Try connecting a known-good servo in its place, and see if the problem repeats itself.

Sorry for my incomprehensible english but i Use a Babilonia for translator because I don’t speek your language.
The scratched ( Babilonia ) is a noise that servos, produced when i pilot this and I moved The same with hands.
I think that a structure of torso forced a neutral point and is very difficult to set this because are 2 servo that works
in this condition. An other example : if the hand of Jonny 5 is closed ( because a software command this ) and i open the hand of Jonny5 with my hands, i listen a same noise of servos 1 e 2 ( i have a mistake : the servos are 1 e 2 et non 2 e 3 sorry )
However, i changed the same with other two good servo ( and other two servos mighty or potent (Babilonia) but the problem repeats itself.
I don’t now a solution.

The waist servos in the base of the J5 are there to allow small movements like gestures. They are not intended to allow the hand to grab something off the floor. You can upgrade the servos in the waist with 755 or 805 for more strength.
I think you may have stripped the gears on the servo. When you move a servo by hand, it should move smoothly without “grinding” or rough spots. You should hear a whir and maybe feel some vibration. Any loud noises usually mean the servo has stripped the gears.
Some servos will react when another servo draws power. You may need bigger batteries too.
If you test each servo before mounting it, it should sound like a soft buzz when it is moving. Then you know the servo is good. If it sounds different when installed, you either need more power or a lighter load.

I have replaced a servos whit other news, but not ok.
I remeber you, that is very difficult to search a neutro (0) position
for two servos because after first servo is set a neutro , a neutro
of second servo modified position of first. And:
a noise that servos, produced when i pilot this and I moved The same with hands…
is an example to understand a kind of noise. Usually, i don’t move a servo with hand;
- If use a software and put off all servo, when switch on, one of two servos, this produced
always a noise and it is very difficult to search, with a slide, position with noise=0 ( neutro ). - The waight of dorso simulate my hands that forced a servo. This is a very problem.
- Than, i put off this, and switch on a second servo: same difficult to search a 0 position,
because this also produced a noise. When I find a 0 position whit noise = 0, and switched on first servo,
this reproduce a noise again and I must repeat operation. Than i search a news 0 position,
but if switched on a second servo, this reproduced a noise again .
I dont have any difficult for search and set 0 position for other servo , because dont have any noise.
I repeat: i have changed with other servo, but not ok.
