Hey guys, first post.
I just restarted my old robot project and redesigned Jerry to be a 4WD rover instead of a quadrapod (picture attached).
I bought 4 Hitec 1422 servos, one for each wheel, and this might have been a poor design choise but I jumped right in to it and didn’t think in advance. Maybe I should have just got 2 instead and saved some money or go with DC-motors, anyways.
Just wired it up and tested a bit and as I suspected the servos don’t run with the same speed when sent the same command. They also do not stop at the center command instead each one got its own stop command, so I’ll have to calibrate in software. (60 rpm my ass).
Anyways, enough complaining. I also have an arm with 3 hitec 422 servos, but no gripper yet and it’s not placed. How much load do you think it can handle with a gripper on the end?
I am going to control it with my HTC Desire Android phone, so do you guys know of any good bluetoothmodule that connects good with the SSC-32?
All chassiparts are made with aluminium and my Dremel.
Long post, sorry guys! Thanks for reading! Please comment!
