Does this Robot walk on its own? Would it be able to successfully walk through a maze without a user controlling it?

There is some sample code available so it can execute pre-programmed routines, but nothing for maze-solving.

The two are really not related - walking robots really focs on walking, not maze solving.
Maze solving robots are almost all wheeled an are equipped with sensors to solve mazes.
You would need to add sensors to a walking robot and adapt a maze-solving algorithm.
Can you tell us more about why you want a walking robot for a maze? It would be quite slow.
