Okay, my CH3-R arrived late yesterday afternoon. Usually Brown Santa, that would be UPS, shows up around noon but no, not today. Not the day I really wanted him to be on time. So, I got it last night about 5:00pm and immediately tore open the box and surveyed all that Lynxmotion had sent me. And as usual, everything was nicely packaged, bagged, and labeled, and ready to be assembled. So let the fun begin.
I normally got to bed about 9:00pm cause I get up at 3:30am so I can get to work early. Going in early allows me to beat the awful Washington, D.C. traffic and besides that, I get all my work done by 9:00 when the rest of work-force are just starting to show up. But last night was a late night for me. I was up till midnight working on my new hexapod but I finally had to quit because of blurred vision working with all them that little bitsy screws and assorted parts. 8)
So this afternoon I was back at it again and long about 6:00pm VOILA! There was much joy and success in Mudville as I applied power and things started to shake, rattle, and roll. Well, there was also some sort of six legged ambling going on also.
Now then, the basics are done, the little guy moves as directed so at last I can start doing some real work with him and turn him into an autonomous free spirited hexapod with a bug brain all his own.
You have to have the photos posted on the Internet somewhere and then you can use the Img tag to get them on here. You also have to make sure that you have the check box for Disable BBCode in this post unchecked.
Very nice, Carl! I need to neaten up WALTERâs cabling also, but that will require a complete disassembly (WALTER says NO DISASSEMBLE!) and rebuild, which I am not going to do until I have the new body decks.
Uh oh. Tell her to keep it nice now⊠One of the ladies here where I live named WALTER and I came up with the acronym.
When building my robots I use all kinds of pieces parts. We are fortunate to have in Orlando, SkyCraft Surplus. It is one of those places you can browse for hours and always find things you need or things you will need sometime in the future. Heck, even my wife likes going there now with me to shop.
Got a couple more things planned which I will be working on after Thanksgiving. One of the mods is pretty âkoolâ so I will be taking a few pictures to show what I have done.
Carl
Jim, thanks much for a great product. In fact, all your kits are great and all your pieces work fantastic. Wish more businesses had your attitude about quality work.
I noticed some black rubber shock mounts in the kit that comes with the '475 servos I just bought, but it doesnât look like they can be used with the current brackets.
I got them at SkyCraft Surplus but it is one of those items you just see in the aisles when you are browseing and shopping.
I am flying to Orlando tomorrow and plan on going to SkyCraft before we leave to go see my mom for Thanksgiving. I will try and pickup a hundred or so of the nylon inserts if they still have them.
