Is this everything I need?

I want to experiment with the pan/tilt head kit, are these all the correct components I need to run the SSC? (I really don’t want to place an order only to discover I’m missing some crucial component!):

I was thinking I would try to power the SSC-32 from a wall socket but it was mentioned that I’d need to solder the mains adaptor to a battery harness and without a step-by-step guide I’m afraid I’ll fry myself so I think I’ll go with the battery option!

Battery charger
Two battery packs (to power the servos and the logic circuits separately)
Two wiring harnesses (to connect each battery to the SSC)
The SSC-32
The pan/tilt kit
Serial-to-USB adaptor (to connect the SSC-32 to my Mac)

Sorry for such a basic question but I’m really new to electronics.

sounds ok but maybe you want to add some 1 1/2 hex stand offs and screws for the bottom servo to mount it , i had that problem with my pan/tilt kit and chr-01 i cound not mount it.

By 1 1/2 standoffs -will these do?

They seem ok basicly any thing that will alouw the servo to stand and be mounted on a flat surface.

sorry but you need the visual sequencer for the SSC 32

Is it possible to control the SSC-32 via serial commands? I’m hoping to write my own code to do so…

SSC stands for Serial Servo Controller. :wink:

The serial commands are found in the users manuals.
