Is the servo erector set a kit I can buy?

Im not fully understand this from the LM website. Where do I purchase this so called “SES”? Correct me if Im wrong, but LM is selling indiviual parts, and calls it the SES, no? Because I havent found a single product called the SES I can just click to buy.

Also guys, apart from the BRAT and other bipeds, I want a package full of strong digital servos, brackets and tons of other biped/arm/scout/brat parts that I can use to customize my own creations (Im mainly looking for a ton of C brackets and Servos), where do I purchase this all in 1 bulk price package?

The SES isnt a package. Its just a general name for the Aluminum brackets Jim Frye (the head Honcho of Lynmotion) gave them. You can buy any SES piece individually (in pairs) and they fit all standard sized Hitec and Futaba analog or digital servos. Hope this helps!

Perfect, I thought I was correct but just needed to make sure.

Also, is there nothing we can do to lower the prices on those things??? 2 for $10-15 is expensive, and can only hone about 1 joint or 2 joints if im not mistaken .

I’ve been here for 3 years now, the price is the same! I wish it was a lot lower (like 5-10 for 2), but sadly aluminum is expensive to manufacture! :open_mouth:

These prices are pretty good for the quality. Once you have in hand you will get a better idea. Remember, in fixing the prices for aluminum, purchasers are competing against many other vendors who are willing to pay more. I’m sure you’ve flown on an jet before. Ever wonder what they are paying for their aluminum?

I can say this, you are getting what you pay for in these things. They will last for years and years, with a nice level of abuse. Find me some plastic toy at walmart for ten and I’ll show you a broken toy in two weeks. The SES pieces will likely still be around

I agree!

Sounds like a sweet investment to invest into then. I like you guys’ style!

I also have a question for the head hancho

will there be a 1/4 SES for quarter scale servos?

It is something I want to do, but I don’t know how long it will be before I can work on it.

Take any hobby: arts -n- crafts, painting, R/C cars, boats, planes, trains, wood working metal working, etc… they all have one thing in common; you have to pay to play. The amount you pay dictates how much you can play.

No way around it. Perhaps you can build a mini straw hut out of fallen pine needles… you will need some glue however. :stuck_out_tongue:

Mike Mike Mike… think green man… pine pitch will hold it together and it’s biodegradable. :unamused: :stuck_out_tongue: 8)

RECYCYLE! REDUCE! REUSE! AAAAND…how does the rest go?

I dunno… but the EU has damn3d us all to the tin whisker jungle with the whole RoHS thing. If you don’t know about lead free plating and solders and why medical and military products are exempt from RoHS, and you have a strong stomach for scary electron microscope imagery, take a lookie here nepp.nasa.gov/whisker/photos/index.html

uh, not to derail the thread about SES or anything… did I mention I was building a scout from SES? I ran short of the bearing type c-brackets, having just the older non-bearing type left. One big drill bit and a prop reamer later I now have ball bearing type C-brackets. fortunately I had a few extra 3mm flanged bearings sitting around that just happened to fit the new hole! Woo hoo.

it’s ok I was just hoping you would do this
but one last question do you think a quarter scale
SES bracket would cost more or equal to current parts?

The 1/4 scale parts are made from 0.09" thick material (in my mind) and will be larger, so the costs associated with them will be greater.

thanks for the info now all I gotta do is wait sorry for wasting your time

Hi Eddie,

Where did you find the bearings? Jameco Robot store seems to have them, I saw a pix, but no price or way to order!

Oh… you mean these?

lynxmotion.com/Product.aspx? … tegoryID=6

yeah I probably got them from lynxmotion at one time or another. vxb.com also has lots of bearings and bulk deals on a lot of the sizes (i.e qty 10, qty 25 type bulk).

Yeah, that’s it!

I have been all over the Lynxmotion website (or so I thought), even was on VXB I’ve ordered from them before), but didn’t find them!
