Is my PS/2 Controller bad?

I have a MadCatz Dual Force 2 Pro PS/2 tethered controller. I have been tinkering with the PS/2 control code I found here.

So far, all I can get is the controller goes into vibration mode automatically. I have tried my PS/2 cable on two sets of four I/O pins on the ABB with the same result. The controller goes into force feedback and nothing changes when I press buttons or move the joysticks on the controller. None of the numbers changes for the controller data from the program.

Does this mean my controller is bad or that something else is wrong?

Alright, does the analog mode light on the controller turn on? Do you have a basic atom pro? If so, you need to put a 1ko resister between 2 of the wires. forgot which ones, look on site for tutorial.

Yes, I have the Basic ATOM (not Pro). Hmmm, I must have missed the resistor thing in the tutorials. I will go look again. Thanks for the pointer.

nvm then! you only need resistor if you have the basic atom PRO! Only the pro needs it. the non-pro just connects. Can you take a picture of your current setup? Does the analog mode LED turn on?

Hmmmmm… My controller has a “Digital” light that comes on, so this could be the problem. I just read in the manual that RED means the controller is in Analog mode, and the light is red so it’s in the right mode.
