I made a design for a robot in sketchup. I made it like something that is two wheeled and without any castor wheel.
Wanted something like this : http://www.pololu.com/product/189
I have a little concept on mechanics so don't know weather the design will be stable or not. Any suggestions on making it any better?
One problem If I get this right, the robot has two drive wheels and uses the front and back plows to balance on.
I see a potential problem in that if something gets under one of the plows and lifts it up a small bit, the wheels will be in the air also.
Is this meant as a robot Is this meant as a robot sumo bot?

No it is meant to be just a

Then I would lose the blades Then I would lose the blades and use a rear caster. But I’d be prepared for needing a front caster.
The original that you referenced had blades because it was a designed for robot sumo. Robot sumo is typically played out on a very flat floor and might not work out on a rug or the outdoors.

Thank You
Just watched the first 20 min of the video and it answered all my question. Going to watch the rest of it too.
Thanks for the video, and for the idea of the back skid too.

One thing
In the video he said that the traingle between the two wheels and the caster must be a equilateral triangle to make it more stable.
I am not sure if I heard it right, will it not end up in standing in a awkard positon then, that he showed later on?
Correct me if I am wrong, I am weak in mechanics as I said.
