Irobot 531 cliff sensor always alerting

Hi!

I require your help regarding a problem I’m encountering.

I have a old roomba 531, one day it refused to start working and kept chanting “move roomba to a new location”.
I ran the manufacturer’s diagnostic tests and found that one of the cliff sensors is always closed, meaning it thinking it always on the edge of a cliff.

Hoping that the issue is with the sensor I bought a new ones (I had to replace all 4 since there all connected via 1 hub) and replaced, but still the same error! all the other sensors are working but still the same inner location sensor with the same problem. It makes me think that something is wrong with the motherboard.

My Q is, is it fixable? and if so, what might be the problem I should look for?

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hi Baker,

I would suggest you replace the whole motherboard but if you have the right tools, you could be able to repair it.

Oscilloscope, multi-meter and soldering iron.
