Hello All,
I am working on COllision avoidance project which employes IR Range finder **GP2Y0A710K0F. **I just wanted to know if some one knows the resolution of it. by that i mean after how many cm or mm of distance it changes its output analogue voltage.
Its from SHarp and I have checked its data sheet which says nothing about resolution of this rangefinder.
Regards
Abdullah
Hi Abdullah,
Page 5 of the datasheet for the range finder does have a graph that shows the relation of the output voltage to the distance (L):
Since the output site is analog, there’s no “resolution” because the signal continuously varies, but if you are using a analog to digital converter, the precision of the ADC will determine resolution.
The output signal can vary depending on the lighting conditions and other variables, so some testing is also needed to calibrate the signal for your particular setup.
Hope this helps,
