i am having an ir proble i want to make an ir remote to control a few machines bas the problem is the lenght is too short and i need to get it taller how can i do so?
less resistance = more current is that the solution?
or what should i do?

Not easy to say. You could put a lens in front of your IR LED to focus the beam but then you need to aim more precisely. Also what Duane said, there are high power IR LEDs available.
To help you more we would need a plan/picture and description of your project.

if you could get 5 to 10 m from the setup you are attempting to replicate.
