Does anyone know if someone is busy with or succeeded in using an iphone with serial output instead of a botboard?
Since i have a new iPhone 3Gs i have my 2G to mess around with.
It would be great to have a touch sensitive big screen wifi server as a hexapot brain!

How do you hack an iphone for serial output in the first place, or is that part of your question?

There are more ways to do it but one of them is installing a app called “minicom” through Cydia and then adjust an ipod connector. You can google for that… Use something like:
pin 11 = GRND
pin 12 = TX
pin 13 = RX
pin 18 = +3.8V ( output voltage from iphone )
i believe you have to cross wire the rx and tx when connecting to output receiving device.
For example the ssc-32 ;o)

Thank you but that isn’t what i meant.
I want to attach the iphone to the ssc-32 by cable rx /tx.
And use the iphone to run the hexapod code or to be used as a wifi enabled interface to remote control the iphone from a computer.
