Introduction post and first quwation

Hello you all,
I d like to intruduce myself first.
I am 31 years old (male) married, one daughter and come and live from/in germany. I am interested in robots ever since I soldered my first relais 10 years ago.
I m very impressed though I searched this forum since I had some questions regarding lynxmotion issues.
Not that found alls answears (except for one) I also came across interesting ideas i did not even thing about yet.

But still this one question remaind open…

What diameters can be gripped by the hand of johnny 5 robot?

The largest diameter would be 1" with hand closed all the way. Larger objects could be grabbed.

Hello,
since I could place the both parts of the gripper as far apart as i like, the diameter is theretial endless.

Since I want do grab cola cans with it, I d like to know the diameter of the large part (right part of the rightg hand,left part of left part, from the sight of the robo)

One side is flat, the other is rounded. So it’s still 1" unless I’m missing something.
