Intermittent Vacuum Suction, Roomba 560

Hello,

Could someone please point me towards documentation around the vacuum bin? I’ve had the suction motor periodically not work, including after emptying the bin (i.e., suction works, empty bin, place on floor, suction broken). I haven’t had it stay broken yet, but I was wondering how I can troubleshoot this in order to either isolate the problem to the bin or the rest of the robot. I do have a multimeter and hand tools available, and I can replicate power voltages using battery packs. I have a soldering station available, but I’m a bit of an amateur at it.

Thanks,

Tony

I can get the motor to spin using a square 9V battery, so it’s not stuck, and afterwards it started working. Very bizzare. I’m happy it’s working, but anyone got a theory as to what the heck just happened?

Have you checked the contacts on the dirt bin and on the robot? It is possible they are dirty and the connection is intermittent. Or it could be the connection on the motherboard that is loose.
