Interface question for the picaxe 28X1

Are these parts interfaceable with the picaxe 28X1 or do I need to get an adapter for them?

  1. Hitec HS-311 Servo Motor

  2. On Shine 433MHz Low Cost Transmitter/Receiver Pair

  3. SFE CMOS Camera - 1300x1040 pixles

  4. SFE Laser Module - Red with TTL Control

  5. Hitec HSR-1425CR Continuous Rotation Servo

I’ve also bought 2 Netmedia 6" Jumper Wire Kit to connect the parts to the microcontrollers. Is this all I need or do I need special equipment to interface some of these parts?

Thanks this is my first robtics application and I am just looking for parts that can be peiced together like legos so I can quickly replace parts on it as needed.

1- Yes, the servo “data” line can be connected to a PICAXE pin directly.

2- No problem for serial communication.

3- I2C is not a problem either.

4- Simple digital pin interface.

5- This specific continuous rotation servo can be handled like a normal servo motor.

You might need some Pin headers and a small solderless breadboard for experimenting.

Keeping a selection of resistors can be useful for limiting current from the microcontroller pins or for other things such as voltage dividers. Optionally, a kit full of various electronics parts can come in handy. The more you play with electronics and microcontrollers the more “stuff” you will find yourself wanting to have on hand
