Inputs on the SSC-32

FYI: For those of you using digital inputs for the arm with the wait for command:

Below is the image from the SSC-32 Manual that shows how to wire digital inputs:

If you want to use a switch as an input you can wire it as shown, and use the - pin on the “B” input row and it works fine. This is not very intuitive for HS students, as they want to wire it right next door, in the same column, but the the pin there is +. Could I also wire it so that I pull ground from one of the unused servo headers?

Also, in the next iteration of the SSC-32 are the inputs going to be labelled the same in the software and on the board? For example: screen print 1234 instead of ABCD on the board, or change the numbers in the software to ABCD?

Psst: Fixed your post. To make an image show up in-forum, you need to use the direct URL to the image, not the gallery. For example, use this URL

nyelectrathon.com/e107_plugins/a … Inputs.jpg

instead of this one

nyelectrathon.com/e107_plugins/a … Inputs.jpg

If you’re running Firefox or the newer IE versions, you can right-click on the image and “Copy image URL”.

We will look at changing the software to match the board in the next release. Sorry for the inconsistency.

Thank you!!! I’ll make note, and never ask again… til next time!

Thanks Jim! That’ll make life a little easier! How about while you are at it, make the outputs in the software match the numbers stenciled on the board as well. ie: 8 is really 1 ect…

Thanks!
