Innerbreed Pull-Pull Animatronics (3D Printed)

It looks great! Loving the coloured lettering.

WootWoot…!

Makes it pop erh.

May use apoxy as the acrylic paint is showing small signs of cracking. :frowning:

I know you can liquidify epoxy with alchool.
Can you just mix pigment and alchool to have an epoxy filling ?

Something like that.i have also considered mixing up some polyurethane liquid, and add pigment to that. So it will set as a hard plastic embossed in the lettering.

I should take a leaf from your book and cut acrylic lettering from a sheet then in lay them into the engraving.

It would stand out quite nicely with the glossy finish.

My work here is done.
both the Rc and Autonomous armatures are finished. Been awhile but with Christmas etc money gets tight.
Ill be driving the armatures 150miles across the UK to be skinned and feathered, hopefully in Feb when i have some time…

Pffff 150miles
That’s next door Jonny…!

Lol.

Birds will be starting the next stage in mid february. Feathers!

I cannot really say at this point if ill be commissioned to making this or who its for 'but here is a Conceptual reference for v2.0 (Cable and Rod puppet for a Green Screen set)

Could you make it into kit form? There are not many “lifelike” robots out there which are not custom made.

Turning something like this into an available kit would be far to demanding.
Manufacturing it is no problem, but drawing up tutorials, keeping stock, packaging, postage, and customer service would be far to much for me.

I have customers for complete builds but not for kits.

Please check out the wonderful work of Mike Gadd, who has feathered my mechanical armature.
I haven’t yet fired it up due to time many as i need to sort out some power but so far here it is.
I already know there are a few mechanical constraints (as expected) but i will be working on another rig for mike that will hopefully make things easier for him and also better for the final performance.

BUT… Check this out!

…damn, I couldn’t think of something owl-ish to say.
It’s looking great by the way - looking forward to seeing it in action. 8)

That was once a real bird wasn’t it?
Waiting impatiently for a video !

Yes it is… its a Tawny Owl.

The laws concerning the purchase or possession of natural history specimens can be a little confusing.
I can assure the death was not illegal and every step taken with this bird has been registered.
and in actual fact this is the first thing i ever looked into when i started this project.

Quick and dirty…
issue with the wings but nothing i cant sort for the next video.
please be aware that since my pc suffered an issue i cannot use video editing software so its a quick recording…

Awesome! Great work Jonny!
…and now you should enter a contest…

The feather work was stunning.

Great to see it alive! Maybe some servo movements need to be little smoother or more accurate. You are using the PS2 for direct control or predefined randomized movements?
