Info on Shanghai Zosn Hydraulic WT-500

Hello,

I am interested in purchasing several of the Shanghai Zosn Hydraulic WT-500 tracked robot kits (Robot Shop # RB-Zos-02) for an educational program, however I have a few technical questions and I am having a hard time getting information from the MFG website.

My questions are:

  1. Control: What is the control interface (if any) for this tracked robot? Are motor controllers / ESCs included with the kit, and if so, can they be controlled via standard RC-style servo PWM signals? If controllers are not included, are the drive motors brushed or brushless, and what type of motor controllers would be compatible/recommended (RC PWM control desired)?

  2. Battery: Your website indicates a voltage requirement of 12V. Is a proprietary battery solution required by the kit? If not, can a 3S LiPo battery be used to power the system? If a battery must be provided, what connector style is required (realizing this likely depends on the motor controller being used)?

  3. Sub-Systems: Ignoring anything I might add to the system (i.e. RC receiver, camera, etc), what other sub-systems are included with the kit (i.e. lighting, etc) and do they all require 12V? If other voltages are required, what are they? Is any form of Battery Elimination Circuit (BEC) or regulator functionality included to provide these other voltages from the 12V input?

  4. Payload Compartment: What are the dimensions of the internal compartment and is it completely free from other integrated parts or components?

  5. Parts: Are spare parts available for this kit? If so, what spares are recommended to have on hand?

  6. Availability: This product is listed “New Stock Soon” on your website. I am interested in a quantity of 5 or 6 for an educational program this summer. Can you estimate when the product would be available? The WT-500 MINI would be a less ideal, but viable alternative. Same question.

Thank you.

We’ll get back to you shortly with answers to each question.

  1. We have confirmed that the motors are brushless and include the corresponding ESC speed controllers (with BEC). The handheld transmitter and receiver are also included.

  2. The main battery is not included but an 11.1V, 5000mAh+ LiPo battery is suggested (Deans connector).

  3. It’s up to the customer to equip the robot with whatever additional parts they want / need for their application. The lights are not included.

  4. The inner case is 38018050mm

    5) The manufacturerprovides tools and some spare parts along with the robots. We’ll provide a list shortly.

    6) The robots are built to order and take around 2 weeks, after which it is shipped to the nearest RobotShop warehouse, and then to you.

    Hope this helps,

Thank you. This helps immensely. My organization should be placing an order shortly.

One final question:

Can the included wireless receiver be disconnected from the ESCs, or are they tightly integrated? It is our intent to insert an ArduRover controller (i.e. APM) in between the Rx and the ESCs.

They are separate products - the receiver has multiple channels. You can certainly use an ArduRover.
