Are there any plans to sell individual preprogrammed SSC-32 microcontrollers without the board and other components? This would be for home automation and similar projects where numerous microcontrollers may be needed at seperate locations some distance from the controlling computer.
They are planning to sell an upgrade for existing SSC-32’s. I don’t know if they will sell to those who don’t have them, or if they even track that sort of thing.

Thinking a little more about the chips, I suppose if one already had an ssc-32, one could just get more microcontroller chips, put them in the ssc-32 board, and possibly program the chips there with the firmware.

Yes we wil be offering the chips by themselves. They are intended to upgrade the older boards, but it would be impossible to make sure the buyer has previously purchased an SSC-32.
