INDIE ROCKERS seeking ROBOTIC SUPPORT!

My indie-rock band, BabySealClub, has a fantastic concept for a music video and we're dying to hear from anyone who can help.

The theme is about preserving our humanity in a technological age.  It will be shot in hi-def and feature an extraordinary pool of talented visual artists.

We need advice, direction, assistance from someone with experience as to how to we might find/borrow/utilize some pick & place-type robotic arms (1 - 4) that can be programmed to move objects in space (synched to the music of course) on a small surface.  We'd like to do this close to home in the San Francisco Bay Area (we're in Santa Rosa) but would consider traveling for the right setup.  We have no budged (c'mon, we're musicians!) but we have a lot of talent, the song is great, our hearts are in the right place and we promise a good time for anybody who gets involved.

We want to shoot it in real time btw and if possible the system should be programmable.

Okay gang, anyone out there have some ideas where to begin?  Contacts?  Robots of your own up for the task?
Please email me at:   [email protected] (without hypens of course)

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Oh, and if you know a particularly good online source, a company that might be into helping us or another community chat room better suited for our needs please post the url.  Thanks again!

A direction to go.

You have a very good hacker-space near to you that might be a good place to find some answers. It is called Noisebridge and as I remember, it is in the Mission District close to the 16th St. BART. There should be a lot of nerds there and a lot of good connections to be made. It is worth a call.

I love Indie Rockers!
