Hi, sorry if this is posted to the wrong category, I couldn’t find a 3D printer-specific category.
I recently purchased a kit from you for an Afinibot A3 3D printer. It was delivered yesterday, started building last night. In general it’s going together fine, parts are a precision fit, instructions are decent, no major issues. However, after carefully and repeatedly checking the parts and the instructions, it seems like there is one incorrect part provided, specifically the Z-axis limit switch. I can provide photos showing everything I describe below if necessary, but I’ll start with just a description.
The instructions (both the .pdf and the video) clearly show the exact same limit switch being installed for by the Y-axis and Z-axis – it’s a black plastic body switch with offset mounting holes on diagonally opposed corners. However, only one of this type of switch has been included in the kit. A second limit switch is included, which is a much smaller switch mounted on a small red PCB with parallel mounting holes on only one side of the board. The mounting holes for this switch are not even close to matching the mounting holes in the printer frame where the Z-limit switch is to be installed.
What is really odd is if I watch the assembly video very, very carefully, it becomes obvious that the video actually shows two different versions of this printer being assembled at different points in the video. Some sections show the kit that I bought, which has a one-piece flat front frame, whereas other parts of the video show what appears to be an older design that does not have the one-piece main frame and instead only has flat bars across the top and bottom. In the video where the other kit is being shown, I can actually see the Z-limit switch that I have (with the red PCB) mounted on a small extension plate attached in roughly the same spot on the frame. So the switch I have appears to be from an older kit, and I cannot figure out any reasonable way to mount it on this one.
What is even odder is the parts list with my kit does clearly show both the flat front frame with the offset mounting holes but also lists the Z-limit switch on the red PCB. However the assembly instructions clearly show the same (black) switch being used for both Y and Z axis, and do not anywhere show the switch I actually have being mounted.
Would appreciate any advice, or preferably a replacement switch that actually fits the mounting holes as shown in the instructions. Let me know if you need pictures to clarify what I see in my kit vs what I see in the instructions.
Thanks!
