In the tutorial of BH3-R

Step 6.

What are really things that we assign to for all the different settings when we open the master program ?

And what is really the programming software we are using to program this robot ?

Is it basic atom pro or is it basic stem ??

I am so confused with all these terms…

My guess if this is a newer BH3-R you are using powerpod is that you have a Atom Bot Board 2 with a Basic Atom Pro 28 chip that has been or needs to be installed in the board. The chip is red. You will need to choose your leg style. Not sure if you have other questions on the options?

Cut and paste from the guide with additional comments in parenthesis added.

IDE: Choose the appropriate version. (The PC program used to put the BASIC code into the Atom Pro 28)
Control: PS2, Autonomous, or Serial. (How does the robot operate)
H3 Legs: 3DOF-A, 3DOF-B, 3DOF-C, or 3DOF (Old). (What legs are you using)
H3 Body: Round or inline. (What’s the body shape)
PS2 Controller / BB Connections: Choose between Bot Board I and Bot Board II settings. (Which Bot Board do you have)
PS2 sticks dead zone: Small, Normal, Large. (How reliable are the joysticks for returning to center)
Tibia Angle: + values set foot tip away from knee. Value of +20 recommended for 3DOF-C leg. (What angle do the tibias have relative to ground)
Auto Legs Down: If enabled, lowers lifted tripod after period of inactivity.(How long till the up tripod lowers if the robot is still)

The Basic Atom Pro 28 is programming in… drum roll please… BASIC! Below info is cut and paste from the guide, and there are links…

Software:

  • PowerPod (download)
  • Basic Micro Atom 28 IDE (download)
    • Note, only ver 2.2.1.1, 5.3.0.0, and 5.3.1.3 are supported.
    • Note, if your Basic Atom chip has a “Rev-D” label on the bottom, you must use IDE v5.3.1.3.
  • Basic Micro Atom Pro 28 IDE (download)
    • Note, only ver 8.0.1.7 is supported.

Either the Atom Pro 28 or the Atom 28 can be used.

Hi thank you sooo much for your reply. That makes more sense now.

So in a summary of all the terms, we program this robot, using programming language of ‘BASIC’ with the software of ’ Basic Micro Atom 28 IDE’ to create it, and the programs that I have created for the robot will be transferred to the chip called ‘Atom Pro 28’ which has to be attached to ‘Bot Board II’. Is that right ?

Cheers.

I think he’s got it!
