In need of a 12v lipo battery for my tracked robot

Hello all,

I’m clueless as to the battery I need to power this monster. I have a tracked robot, which is powered by 2 12v motors. The only information I have on the motors are the spec on the motor itself:

I would like ideally to have a lipo battery (at least in this size). I know that lipo batteries for 12v is of 11.1v, but I do not know that battery specs I need (discharge, etc).

Can someone enlighten me?

Thanks!

Hi @kadersin
I’m sure any RC-Lipo pack that fits inside the frame will do. This motor doesn’t seem to be very hungry.
Be careful with the sharp edges of the metalframe.
If you have access to LiFePO4 batteries (LFP) you 'd be spot on at 12V
( A123 systems a.k.a. Dewalt battery tools)
Another option are SC-sized NIMH batteries often seen in powertools.
A 10 cell pack would be 12V nominal, too.
