I just wanted to say sorry if I had given a bad impression to you guys. Like maybe asking to many stupid questions ,or just being plain irritating and because of my name (robotmaster18). I'm just 14 years old and might have been immature before so I am sorry. I don't know I just feel really bad like I don't belong here.
We are all out of place.
Hi Robotmaster18!
We all feel out of place most of the time. I am almost 50 years old and feel that way most of the time. Geeks, nerds or whatever you want to call us, are all kind of strange anyway. We have issues with each other just like any other people do and we are all different.
I do and say stupid things on a daily basis. I feel more at home in front of a computer or a computer related project than I do with other people. We are still apes blindly feeling our way around the trees.
Enjoy life, have fun, live for yourself and be yourself most of all.
Scott
robotmaster, that’s a cool
robotmaster, that’s a cool name. Anyway, you will be one if you just follow some simple rules. Oh, i do not want to be a mentor for life and behavior but let me say some thin gs here.
As jscottb I am also one of the older generations here in LMR and going to add the 5th zero to my age by next year. I still can talk with younger people and in not face to face chat you would not exactly know that I could be your father LOL.
Rule, yes I was talking about them…i don’t like rules either but some of them are quite useful.
1. Behave this way that your grandma would say "well, that’s a good boy"
2. Take critics with a smile, even if you wanna bite…you don’t learn from slimy comments how good you are but from comments that you messed it up.
3. See everybody here as a friend, that’s what we are. No matter the age in the passport, no matter the religion, race, gender, we are all nerds. If you’re not then you will leave that community anyway. Only nerds can take that pressure in LMR (kidding intended)
4. Say thank you for each and every comment/help/critics you get, even if they are not helping you but they were written with the spirit of helping you.
Maybe I could write much more, but as I said, i don’t like rules either. Life will be your teacher, friends will form you but you have to decide for yourself what it will gonna be, an interesting life, boring or just average. I am sure the most of the active LMRians here can say that they have an interesting and exiting life, me included. Go for it!!!
No worries
Sometimes people on forums get a little wound up about things. One comment or a few made here to you does not represent the collective.
You obviously took a comment or a few comments too much to heart. I feel badly that someone made you feel this way about yourself. You didn’t deserve that. People can be jerks; please do not let it get you down.
They also can be incredibly awesome. So many folks here have gone out of their way to do research for me to answer a question or taken time away from their busy day to answer my question with a half page, detailed answer. Someone did it for them, and answering that question is their chance to give back to the collective.
Good luck no matter what you do. I hope to see you around though at LMR.
Regards,
Bill
