Idea for new robot

Ok. So I have an idea for an R2D2-like robot.

It will move in all four directions and will be controlled using a remote control receiver and transmitter pair...

I am going to be using 2 HG62 Geared Motors 62:1 from Robot Marketplace.

I am going to be using the Scorpion XL Speed controller from Robot Power.

Since I am already using the Speed Controller, do I need a separate motherboard (that I have to build)

Not really but…

No, it does not seem that you need a “motherboard” but without one, you will not have a robot. Currently, you are building a remote control car with a nifty body. If that is what you want, go forth.

That is exactly what I want! I want this robot to be able to serve stuff at my house. So, I pretty much just need two motors with wheels, a speed controller, a garbage bin (which will be the body), and a tray (to serve).
