IDE Versions

Hi Everyone,

I’m following the instructions in “The Complete H3/H3-R Tutorial v2.0” and it tells you to download the “Basic Micro Atom IDE” and says that “only ver 2.2.1.1 or 5.3.0.0 are supported”.

I go to the link it provides:
basicmicro.com/ViewPage.aspx?ContentCode=d_basicatom

It has 2.2.1.1 and 5.3.1.0 as it’s releases (And 5.3.1.1 in Beta)

I could get 2.2.1.1 but I’d rather get the 5 version, as I assume with that much of a version increase that there must be many bug fixes / feature adds.

So - Long story short, the version that the docs and PowerPod mention (5.3.0.0) is not there - Only 5.3.1.0

Has anyone used the newer version? Will it work? Any tricks to getting it to work?

If it won’t work, can someone e-mail me the zip file for 5.3.0.0???
PM me and I’ll send you my e-mail address…

Thanks guys!!!

Hey kmc123,

At the time the doc(s) were written, those were the current versions. They need to be updated to say “ver 2.2.1.1 or 5.3.0.0 or later are supported.” You can try they BETA versions, but they come with an understood " Use at your own risk." If nobody tries them, though, no one will know if they are stable or not.

Hope this helps!

Thank You!

I already downloaded the 5.3.1.1 and it works just fine (I did have to run it as administrator in Vista)

I’m proud to say that my basic bot is up and running!!!

It’s not all put together as it will be (Still waiting on a few parts) - But the basics are all a go!!!
