I want to use a 2mm Mini Vibrating Disk Motor with a remote on/off switch

Hi!

I require your help regarding a problem I’m trying to solve. I want to use a 2mm Mini Vibrating Disk Motor with a remote on/off switch. Is there a kit for this, or does Robot Shop have a switch and remote control

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

It sounds like you need a wireless relay like these:
https://www.robotshop.com/en/seeedstudio-codec-adaptive-wireless-relay.html (transmitter sold separately)
https://www.robotshop.com/en/wireless-relay-control-mini-rboard-arduino-compatible.html (requires nRF24L01)

The issue with these is that the transmitter needs to be connected to a microcontroller, which needs to be programmed.
Something like this is an “all in one”, but more expensive: https://www.robotshop.com/en/2-channel-remote-control-system.html
If you describe your application more, we might be able to help more.

Vibrating motors: https://www.robotshop.com/en/miniature-vibrating-motors.html

I’m trying to make 4 low-cost units that will fit in the bottom of paper lunch bags that people are holding. I want to have them vibrate when I hit the remote. As an alternate, it could make a noise instead of vibrating.

Thanks for helping me

Most of the products RobotShop carries are for general purpose experimentation, and as such are not as inexpensive as something purpose built. We previously carried a wireless relay like the first link, which worked with an inexpensive / compatible remote. That product was unfortunately discontinued, but really sounds like something which would work for you. Suggest searching for “wireless+relay+remote” and you’ll see some options are <$14 (power source not included).

Thanks, that helps
