I want to find the components to "build" a virtual reality glasses

Hi, I’m a first-year high school student and I’m doing a research project. My goal would be to recreate some virtual reality glasses and to do that I would need to know if I could get the necessary components to achieve it here. Could you help me?

Do you really want to recreate some existing model or you just want to make something that will work as virtual reality glasses?

I’ve seen some DIY projects online.

My main idea is to try making a virtual reality glasses but not the glasses that you have to put your mobile. Ones like the classic VR glasses. The glasses have not to be really good, only have to work.
Do you think its possible?

I think these are not using mobile phone but Raspberry Pi LCD screen:
