I REALLY NEED HELP! No idea where to start

I have NEVER researched any information about robots until today.
I have had this challenge for mounts that I can’t figure out.
I’m trying to get 2 parallel planes ( top & bottom) to rotate around a common rotation point.
I have researched on using mechanical gears only, but can’t figure a way to do it.
People already know what it would take. Would take me forever to research.
Can the experts recommend some components for me to try.
I believe the top and bottom plates will only have to rotate a maximum of 12 degrees each direction.
( Opposite each other. )

  1. Motor ( high torque, low rpm )
  2. Motor mount
  3. Gears
  4. Level sensors or proximity switches to regulate a maximum rotation.
  5. Good resource to purchase the items.

Any and all comments or recommendations will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
