I need some help converting 3D files

I’m really itching to play around with the Lynx brackets from the SES but I don’t have solidworks.
I’ve searched high and low for a file converter from one of the lynx file formats to something that sketchup pro 5 can import. But no luck. I’ve built most of my projects in Sketchup Pro 5 and I would really like to work with the brackets already modelled.

I tried Mike’s RCK program but even after installing all the Java 3d, setting the protocol and copying the dll files, I can’t get the parts to load.

Could someone with a few minutes to spare, convert the files for the SES for me into a format I can use? I would be willing to post them online for everyone to use if you like.

I can import:
.3ds (3DS)
.dem (DEM)
.ddf (DEM)
.dwg (AutoCad/ACad)
.dxf (AutoCad/ACad)

Any help would be great. I’ve searched high and low in the Sketchup warehouse and online for these versions of the SES models but found nothing. If it is as simple as saving the files as a different format in SolidWorks, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you

I’ll get them into 3ds for you starting with the asb files then upload them to beth

Wow, thanks bro. That sounds awesome.

Is Beth the webmaster on the lynx site?
Should I look for them on the lynx site?

Hi I would like a copy of the files to work on designing my robot.
I use Milkshape 3D,Max and light wave… I have hands I will post soon.

        Thanks KnightStar

brokenlaser, hows the .3ds models coming? No rush bud, just curious. I really appreciate you converting them so take your time.

The files have been converted and are now sitting in my inbox. I will update the 3D models download page later today, or perhaps tonight. I’m really sorry about the long wait, but I’ve been very busy!

And yes, I am the webmaster (or webmistress, if you’d like to be politically correct) of both the Lynxmotion.com page and the forum. I’ll post here when I’ve gotten the updates done and the files uploaded. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks Beth. Really appreciate it. Good things are worth waiting for.
