I need help!!!

I have a project do and have to talk about whats a SSC-32 and how it work… i have to explain this to ppl that may have never of an SSC-32 so i have to know what im talking about… could anyone help me out

This may seem an impertinent question, but have you ever used an SSC-32 in application? It will be difficult to explain what the controller does if your point of reference is as vague as is that of your audience.
If you pull the SSC-32 users manual and read it through, it starts with an explanation of what a servo is and how they operate. This may help you address your other help me thread requesting that same information. Once you present what a servo, which is shorthand for servo-mechanism if you want to research the concept further, is and how servos compatible with the SSC-32 operate it should be easier to manage the concept of what the SSC-32 does. If you start by illustrating the simple methods the SSC-32 allows for controlling a single servo, then you can expand upon the concept and show how it allows groups of servos to be moved in sync with each other. Further study of the user manual and posts on this forum of how the SSC-32 is applied should let you touch upon the features it offers without having to go too deep for an unsophisticated audience. It would not hurt to have one wired up with a few servos and a few canned movement macros illustrating the concepts prepared in LynxTerm.
Good luck with your presentation.

Mike wrote an article for Circuit Cellar a year or two ago on the SSC-32. That might give you some information.

But simply saying that you send it commands over a serial link, and it positions up to 32 R/C servos describes it pretty well. You could also talk about how an R/C servo works.

ehaynie, just a tip if you post further to the forum (or any forum), deleting information from the origional post renders the followup post somewhat confusing and pointless.
