Hi all,
I am starting a new project that will be a mobile platform for various payloads. One of the payloads may be upwards of 10 lbs. I really desire a hexapod as it’s agility is a requirement for the project.
I am relatively new to the robotics world. I had eyed the CH3-R platform but after reading the 1st page on here, started doubting it. Which of the 3 platforms would I need to meet the weight requirement? Would an upgrade to HS-645 servos on the BH3 or CH3 help?
Thank you.
I think upgrading to the 645MG servos would help, but I don’t think it would be the ultimate solution. If you are thinking of just lifting 10 pounds for a short duration, it might work (Zenta did some extensive weight lifting test with his Phoenix which was outfitted with the 645MG), but if you’re thinking of continuously carrying 10 pounds, I would definitely look for some monster servos, even consider the 1/4-scale Hexapod and brackets.
The most powerful standard-sized robot servo that I can think of is the 5990TG. Those things are a beast…
