I have a concept and I need help to choose right parts

Hello there! I need help with a motion-controlled camera rig. Basically I want to build it using lead screws systems. I’ve seen the servocity kits and I like it but I want to know which parts to choose… Finally, I would be crazy if I could control my completed rig using a Windows software where I could record and even create movements before performs them. The top feature could be to repeat the same movement exactly but at different speeds.

I know what I want I just know nothing about the specifications etc.

It’s a dream I want to come true since a long time and now I have the time for.

Thanks!

You’re looking more at track actuator with a moving carriage? https://www.robotshop.com/en/track-actuators.html
Unfortunately at this time RobotShop doesn’t have a big selection of these linear actuators.
These are not complex to build, but getting the right parts and getting it all to fit together nicely takes time.
In order to create motion, you might consider either something driven by a stepper motor, or a DC gear motor with encoder and limit switches at either end. There are controllers out there which have a basic windows interface and (possibly) allow you to create and play back sequences.

Since your objective is really the end result rather than the design and build process, try to find a stepper motor driven track actuator of the appropriate stroke (dimensions) and add a stepper motor controller with Windows interface software. It might look something like this:
