Hunter V-Tail 500 + Spektrum DX9 (Can't arm the motors)

I recently bought a tail 500 with a Spektrum ar8000 receiver and the dx9 transmitter. I have follow every step in the guidelines and haven’t been able to arm the motors. When I connect the Multiwii to the computer I can see the values in all joystick operations. So they are properly bind and the micro controller is getting the input. But when I go ahead and rise the throttle it doesn’t respond. I have change the values in servo/travel in the transmitter. In the throttle minimum value I have 1000 and 2000 in the max throttle. Please advise, thank you all for reading.

Move the rudder full right with throttle all the way down to start the motors, full left to turn off the motors.
If the LED stays off, it is a problem related to the RX setup.
If the LED is going ON after the arming procedure, it is a problem related to the ESCs.

or you can choose to use any other selection to arm your copter. i moved mine to a switch as shown.

I use the Spektrum DX8. - I had the issue of arming motors then found tip on setting throttle, aileron, elevator & yaw travel for both ends to 120 from the default 100 - you should see in the multiwii config your stick value ranges will work better

Like cdraptor said, be sure to have all channel go from 1000 to 2000 in the GUI.
If not, you have to increase the End Point of your transmitter until it match.

You also have to calibrate the ACC in the GUI once, unless the MultiWii board will not want to arm.

Let us know,

I change all the values on the end points. My motors still don’t start and now I have a continuous fast beep-beep-beep sound. About .25ms. Thank you for all your help. While it beeps the Front Left motor pulse with very little movement.

Ok. I got him to work thanks to Dialfonzo and CDRaptor. Now I have another dilemma. One of my motor doesn’t move. I see the pulsations on the motor. It looks like is going to start but doesn’t start.

I figure it out. It seems that one of my T18A (ESC) is broken. I have tried the same motor on the same port of the multiwii with a different ESC and it works perfectly. Thank you guys again for the help.

Gratz on getting it all to work - lets see some vids. One thing you may want to check into how the ESC is programmed, it may not be bad just setup wrong. Are you using a simonK flashed ESC - those you don’t generally need to tweak they are ready to go for multirotor. Also did you run the MultiWii with the ESC calibration uncommented once - I find it a great way to calibrate the ESCs all together. I just broke my Hunter Vtail this past weekend, I gotta rebuild it but I wanna try the mini size.

Eric what do you do for power dist - do you use a PDB or just a wires together, I saw some nice 2mm end ones from HobbyKing but they have the JST, was going to get one and rewire for XT-60 connector ends to use on the Vtail Mini. I just ordered (2) Hunter Vtail Mini frames and (4) 12A Simonk ESCs. I gotta order some more 2mm bullet connectors since I will be chopping off the Deans & 3mm ends.

Eric what Motors are you going to be getting in for the little guy. I have 6 RCX 1804 2400Kv motors which I will be trying out on them. Also looking at checking out the couple Hacker A10 (-12S & -15S) motors - they are a bit more juicy, love the price of the RCX being under $10 and so far they are going solid on my QAV250 - been practicing my FPV, so far frame & motors are surviving all my crashes nicely.
