HQuad500 and DX5e

Hi,

I just purchased the HQuad500 w/ Quadrino Nano and I am having some difficulty getting it to fly.

I have constructed it using this guide:
lynxmotion.com/images/docume … deV1.0.pdf

I am attempting to control it with the DX5e and AR610, here:
robotshop.com/en/spektrum-5- … ystem.html

The description on the HQuad500 says it requires a 5-channel (or more) controller, and links to the DX5e, but
this page says that the controller may not be compatible:
lynxmotion.com/p-797-spektru … radio.aspx

Will this controller work to any degree? In what ways is this controller incompatible with the Quadrino Nano and MultiWii?

I have configured the AR610 as described here:
robotshop.com/media/files/pd … rtv1.0.pdf

I have run the Firmware Config Tool and it is measuring the rotation and direction of the drone, but I am unable to get the propellers moving. I think it may have to do with the receiver settings from the FCT, but I have tried different ones with no success.

Which settings should I use when configuring the receiver through the FCT?

I have made sure that my motors are connected how the tutorial describes, and I get a little twitch out of each one when I connect the battery, so they appear to be connected properly.

I have also (re)bound the DX5e to the AR610.

I’m at a loss as to what is going wrong here and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The DX5e will now work on a MultiWii base flight controller because there is no End Points adjustment available.
This setting extend the signal sent to the controller and is needed since MultiWii need to see a signal between 1000 and 2000 for each channels.

Look at P.11 in the Quadrino Nano user manual:
Lynxmotion UAV - Quadrino Nan o- User Guide V1.1.pdf

Since MultiWii doesn’t see it’s minimum value on the Throttle signal and can’t see the maximum signal when Arming the copter, it will not arm at all.

Here are two options of R/C controllers with End Point adjustment:
RadioLink T6EHP-E 2.4G 6CH Transmitter w/R7EH Receiver
RadioLink AT9 2.4G 9CH Transmitter w/R9D 9CH Receiver

You might want to exchange your DX5e for one of the two models ? If so just contact us on the support center.

Just to confirm what you’ve said:

You are are saying that it will “now” work? Or should it be “not” work. The rest of the post suggests that it will not work.

I will likely return it for one of the models you’ve suggested.

You are right, we were going to say “Will Not Work” instead of “Now” sorry about that.
