I purchased the rover and the wifi shield from your site. I connected the rover to the pc using the sample code and it worked perfectly, but I want it to be controlled wirelessly using the anaconda wifi shield and possibly controlled via iPad using an osc app or something similar.
I looked more into the Anaconda wifi sheild and I learned to set it you must remove the ATMGEA328 on the Arduino and this is impossible on the rover, how would I go about programming the wifi board then
The Anaconda shield only uses Tx / Rx, V and GND, so there are no pins taken up by the DFRobotShop Rover - meaning they can be used together (it’s quite hard to test every possible product, so this is theory). We don’t have any sample code to create a user interface for the Rover, but the manufacturer does provide a GUI and some sample code. You might also consider the WiBi Bee. Several customers have posted videos where they control the Rover using their phones (BT / WiFi) and via WiFi from a laptop or computer.
You can use the rover as a serial pass-through if you flash it with an empty sketch. However, this will not work for sending any commands or certainly not for reset signals. If you need direct communication, you will need a USB-to-serial adapter such as RB-Spa-431
