How to use Capacitors?

I have now started to make my own PCBs and currently made one of them and have three others designed. The ones I have designed are shield for servos and an interface for my CMOS camera. But I need to use some capacitor to keep the noise down but I can not find an equation that will tell me the farads (or microfarads ) that I will need to use. Dose anyone know where I can find that information or knows how to find how many farads I would need to use to bring down the electrical noise?

Thanks in advance.

I think for right now the sorce of noise would be comeing from the regulators and the servos.

Determining the source of the noise is important.

Eliminating noise on custom PCBs is an art in itself, you need to consider every component, the application, the ground plane, etc.

If it is coming from the regulator, then usually the specifications will clearly state the suggested decoupling capacitors that are required.

You can start your research on “decoupling capacitors” at Wikipedia
