@onik Normally you choose either Bluetooth or a TV remote, but not both (although it certainly is possible). For a TV remote, you need a simple IR receiver such as: https://www.robotshop.com/en/dfrobot-digital-ir-receiver-module.html For Bluetooth, you need a Bluetooth receiver: https://www.robotshop.com/en/bluetooth-data-telemetry.html In either case, you need a microcontroller and the robot itself. We don’t have any specific video tutorials.

Hi Mr. Coleman. Loved reading your work. I would like you to help me on a specific area on a Project. Human Motion Tracking Robotic Arm. The robotic arm is stationary and will be used to pick up an object. We plan to have sensors attached on a human arm and the gestures would be performed by the robotic arm. We have an idea about the data from the flex sensors, accelerometers and gyroscopes. But the obvious problem here is the dead reckoning. There would be a lot of error data that has to be filtered out. What will be the perfect filtering method for this(Isn’t Kalman a bit complicated)? Also what sensors must be used to find out the position of the human arm? Would a GPS solve this problem or is there an easier way for that?

@Kevin A Kalman filter is very popular and isn’t all that complicated so long as you have it right based on the input. If you (your team) have enough programming experience, you might try a wireless approach using a Kinect sensor or a Leap Motion gesture controller. If you do decide to use physical sensors mounted to the operator’s arm, they would need to stay in the same exact spot in order for the equations to work; the sensors would give you fairly accurate angles and knowing the lengths of each segment should allow you to calculate the necessary angles. A different approach would be to only consider a virtual “base” for the arm (which might be the person’s waste, and track their hand - the arm would only consider the relative X, Y and Z coordinates and calculate the IK accordingly.

@Pranav Most mobile robots use DC gear motors, so you would need a DC motor controller.

One of your YouTube video where you showcased the scout walking robot from lynxmotion, the control you use in that video inspired me since 2 years ago. I know this maybe too much to ask, however would you mind to share the design on that transmitter :).

@Khang Nguyen Appreciate the feedback. The scout video was not mine unfortunately. The controller would likely be the older SSC-32; not sure what the transmitter was.
