How to make a full-round range base for the arm?

Hi everyone, happy new year!

I need to have my arm base rotate for a full round, or near 360 degree, but I don’t need it to be more than 360 degree (namely, more than one round). I was wondering how should I achieve that? I thought about using a continuous servo, but I don’t know whether a continuous servo can achieve accurate positioning as the other 180 degree servos, as I read from the book “Robot builder’s bonanza” the anthor says “once modified to continous servos, they no longer are capable of precise angular rotation.”

I also thought about using gears, but is there any easier way not to use the gears?

Please help me!

If the arm is not too heavy, consider the 785HB servo which has position feedback over 1260 degrees. A continuous rotation servo has no position feedback at all. The other option is of course a servo power gearbox (which uses gears).
