How to make a drive wheel?

I’m trying to make a tennis ball launcher and so I need two friction wheels driven by a high speed DC motor. However, I’m not sure how to connect this wheel to a motor. Can anyone explain the parts I need?

Here’s the wheel in question: robotshop.com/en/actobotics … -gray.html

Hi shutupdonnie,

Those wheels are made to be “free spinning” and there are not adapter available to mount them on a motor or driving shaft.
You would have to build your own adapter for the center section of this wheel.

Attached is the STEP file if you need it.

Do mind linking me to something similar that could be used as a drive wheel? Sorry for the trouble but I’m quite a novice here https://www.robotshop.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

What do you have a motor and most importantly the output shaft ?
That will limit the available items.

Here’s the motor: robotshop.com/en/makeblock- … motor.html

I also have little to no knowledge what kind of shaft I need to connect to the drill chuck. Again, sorry for my lack of knowledge.

A quick search online and we found the one you are looking to build HERE.
We already have some of the MakeBlock stuff available.

I’ve actually been using that article as a guide. However, many of the parts provided are not available from your shop or anywhere else I can find online, specifically the wheels used.

Regarding MakeBlock, we have mostly kits as individual parts are very low sellers and keeping them is stock is difficult.
However they should all be available at MakeBlock since it’s a project they build.
