How to Hack a Yak Bak

I am trying to record my voice for my "Start Here" robot and I thought a Yak Bak would be a good option (I am a teenager).

Does anyone know how to hack a Yak Bak?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

no need the Yak Bak!

You could use any generic voice recorder.

There are greeting cards that …

let you record 10 seconds or so worth of audio. As they are only, I believe, a board and a couple of switches, you should be able to replace the switches with a pair of transistors and a resistor for the base of each transistor.

Just my 2 cents.

A quick search netted this module.

Thanks!

Thanks for the help guys!

I went out to the store and bought a greeting card that had the sound recording capabilities on it. birdmun, you mention replacing the switches with a pair of transistors and a resistor for the base of each transistor. Can you please elaborate just a little bit? (i am pretty new to this sound stuff). Also, can you guys please help me with how to connect it with my Picaxe board (that i used for the robot).

I could also give you a picture of the module and my robot!

Thanks for everything!

**I only mentioned the transistors **

because I am currently only book smart. I don’t have any real world knowledge. Theoretically you should be able to get a pair of standard NPN transistors, a 1K resistor for each transistor and then connect an output pin to a resistor, from the resistor to the base of a transistor. The collector of the transistor needs to be connected to the side of the switch that goes to ground and then the emitter connects to the load.

I am basing my information off of this site.

I hope some of the more knowledgeable regulars can set you straight.
