How to determine power supply needed for two motors

Hello,

I have recently purchased two 7.4V, 1A, Planetary Gear Unipolar Stepper Motors and was told I also needed 2 Cytron 3A 4-16V Dual Channel DC Motor Drivers to run them. The question I forgot to ask was what type and what size power supply I will need to run these with an arduino board. I have also purchased an Arduino Uno starter kit.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Nick Landrigan

Hi @nlandrigan,

You setup will look similar to this one:

although, you will have one motor connected to one cytron board.

You can power Arduino from USB port, and you can power Cytron boards from battery.

You can read here how to choose a battery: https://community.robotshop.com/tutorials/show/basics-how-do-i-choose-a-battery

I was hoping to get a type of power supply that I can just plug into the wall. It appears that they are called wall warts. Is there anything like that on this website?

Hey @nlandrigan. They are called Wall Adapter Power Supply. You could try this one: https://www.robotshop.com/en/12vdc-3a-wall-adapter-power-supply.html
