How to choose the best wheeled robot?

When studying and researching, I believe that everyone, like me, wants to find a wheeled robot that is reasonably priced, fully functional and can run on the desktop. But after browsing through numerous bots, I finally found it. So how does it meet my picky needs? Let me share with you its wonders.

“can run on the desktop”

Certainly not in my wants. I agree this bot looks like a great “introduction to robot programming” product.

I need a robot that can “safely and reliably navigate in a real home environment” and have determined that two factors are extremely critical:

  • accurately measures heading changes allowing for no more than 5 degree heading error in dead-reckoning odometry
  • at least 180 degree bumper coverage, preferably 360 degree bumpers

Looks like a small but smart robot kit. Thanks.
